Cookie Policy

This policy describes cookies and similar browser technologies that may be used to operate, secure, remember preferences for, and understand use of the Nadella Global website.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text records stored by a browser when a website is visited. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, software development tools, and server logs. They may remember a choice, maintain a session, reduce abuse, support page functionality, or provide aggregated usage information.

Some technologies are set directly by this website or its hosting environment. Others may be set by a provider whose functionality is embedded or used to deliver the site. A cookie may be a session cookie that expires when the browser closes or a persistent cookie that remains until its expiration or manual deletion.

2. Categories that may be used

CategoryPurposeTypical duration
Strictly necessarySupports core storefront and page operation, security, network routing, fraud prevention, accessibility, consent storage, and features requested by the visitor.Session to approximately two years, depending on the platform function.
PreferenceRemembers choices such as dark or light theme, interface settings, region, or other display preferences. The custom theme control stores the selected theme locally in the browser.Until deleted or replaced; the theme preference has no fixed server-side expiration.
AnalyticsHelps understand traffic, page performance, navigation patterns, errors, and aggregate engagement so the website can be improved.Commonly minutes to two years, depending on the configured provider.
MarketingMay measure campaign effectiveness or limit repeated advertising if optional marketing tools are enabled. These are not required for ordinary site operation.Varies by provider and consent configuration.

3. Shopify and hosting technologies

This website is designed for Shopify. Shopify and the selected theme, hosting, security, analytics, checkout, or application providers may use necessary and optional technologies under their own documentation and configuration. The exact cookie names and durations can change when Shopify, the theme, installed applications, or business settings change. Store administrators should keep the live consent banner and application inventory aligned with the actual installed services.

Necessary technologies may operate without optional consent where permitted because they are required to deliver a requested page, maintain security, remember consent choices, or provide core platform functions. Nonessential analytics or marketing technologies should be controlled according to applicable law and the visitor’s region.

4. Theme preference and local storage

The dark and light interface switch uses browser local storage under the key “ng-theme” to remember the selected visual theme. This preference does not itself contain a name, email address, telephone number, or project information. It remains in the browser until the user clears site data, changes browser settings, or replaces the preference by selecting another theme.

5. Consent and controls

Where consent is required, a visitor may be offered controls for nonessential categories. A choice can normally be changed through the website’s privacy or cookie settings when such a control is active. Blocking a nonessential category should not prevent access to basic informational content, but disabling necessary storage or browser features can cause navigation, security, forms, theme preferences, and other functions to work incorrectly.

Browser settings can usually block, delete, or notify a user about cookies. Private browsing may reduce persistence but does not make activity anonymous to internet providers, hosting services, or security systems. Clearing cookies may also clear consent choices and require the visitor to select preferences again.

6. Do Not Track and preference signals

Some browsers provide Do Not Track or privacy preference signals. Industry response to these signals is not uniform. Where a legally recognized opt-out preference signal applies to a configured activity, it should be honored as required. The website does not sell personal information or intentionally use contact-form information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

7. Third-party content

If videos, maps, scheduling tools, chat tools, analytics, or other external content are later embedded, those providers may set their own technologies when permitted by configuration and consent. Their policies govern their activities. Administrators should not add nonessential external tools without also updating the consent configuration and this policy when necessary.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as platform features, installed applications, providers, law, or business practices change. The version displayed on the website governs future visits. A material change may be highlighted through the website or consent interface. Questions about a specific browser technology can be directed to the privacy contact below.
